Vragen, beantwoord
Een paar dingen die klanten vaak vragen voordat we beginnen.
Hoe begint een traject meestal?
Met een kort gesprek, per e-mail of videocall, waarin je vertelt wat je wilt bereiken. Daarna stuur ik je een ruwe inschatting van scope, aanpak en budgetbandbreedte. Als we allebei door willen, spreken we eerst een kleine eerste mijlpaal af voordat we ons aan de rest vastleggen.
Werk je op uur- of fixed-price-basis?
Allebei, afhankelijk van het werk. Voor goed afgebakende stukken (een nieuwe feature, een migratie, een duidelijke integratie) werk ik liever met een vast bedrag per mijlpaal. Verkennend of onderhoudswerk factureer ik per uur, met een weekplafond, zodat er geen verrassingen zijn.
Hoe lang duurt een gemiddeld project?
De meeste projecten lopen tussen de twee weken en drie maanden. Grotere trajecten knip ik op in meerdere mijlpalen in plaats van één grote oplevering, zodat we onderweg kunnen bijsturen.
Teken je een NDA?
Ja. Een wederzijdse NDA voordat we gevoelige informatie delen is prima, stuur de versie die je wilt gebruiken. Ik kan ook onder een bestaande mantelovereenkomst werken.
Kun je samenwerken met mijn bestaande team of codebase?
Ja. Een groot deel van mijn werk is meedraaien in een bestaand engineeringteam voor een afgebakend stuk werk, of zorgvuldige en goed geteste aanpassingen doen aan een bestaande codebase. Code review, pull-request-workflows en de gebruikelijke samenwerkingstools zijn geen probleem.
Waar ben je gevestigd en in welke tijdzones werk je?
Ik ben gevestigd in Nederland (CET / CEST) en werk wereldwijd op afstand. De tijdsoverlap met Europa en het oostelijke deel van Noord-Amerika is ruim voldoende. Voor klanten in de Pacific-regio of Azië werkt async-first het beste, met een of twee ingeplande gesprekken per week.
